May 3: Spring Planting Event
It’s time to plant your garden. Find a variety of plants including herbs, vegetables and decorative plants along with tips and tricks from expert gardeners. Plus spring produce is in – asparagus, strawberries, rhubarb and more!

Celebrate spring and make a beeline to the Takoma Park Farmers Market for the 2019 Bee Festival. Learn about these important pollinators and be a beekeeper with DC Beekeepers Alliance. Check out a hive and sample local honey from Bees By the Bay, purchase mead from Maryland Meadworks and bring the kids for some bee-u-tiful face painting.
In Season
Strawberries, asparagus, beets, rhubarb, garlic scapes, scallions, kale, chard, herbs, kolrabi, radishes, bok choy and pickles are back! Greenhouse produce is also available including tomatoes, eggplant, red peppers and cucumbers. Plus pasture raised eggs and meats, artisan cheeses, milk, yogurt, small batch rice and grains, fresh baked breads and pastries, prepared foods, jams, popcorn, spices, flowers, plants for the garden and more.
Come Have a Picnic!
The market is offering picnic blankets for check-out new this season at the market. Market shoppers may take a blanket from the market ATM table in the middle of the market and enjoy their fresh produce, baked goods, cheese, freshly made empanadas and more from the market for a picnic on the adjacent church lawn.
