Join us every Sunday on Laurel Avenue in the lovely historic business district of Takoma Park. You’ll find the freshest local, seasonal produce, breads, pasture raised meats, artisan cheese, eggs, baked goods and more from farms located within 125 miles of Takoma Park, MD. Each week, the market is a lively meeting place for residents and visitors. Street performers often set up along the sidewalks and non-profits share info at the Community Corner creating an enjoyable backdrop to market activities.
Garlic Festival on Sunday, July 22nd
Join us as we celebrate GARLIC! Freshly dried garlic will be the star of the market. We’ll be joined by the Takoma Horticulture Club and Tony “The Garlic Guy.” Learn about different types of garlic and how easy it is to grow at home.
Discover a new recipe! Sara Hayden, enthusiastic home cook and former professional caterer, will serve up some garlic-based creations for you to make at home.
Follow the garlic trail! Takoma restaurants and cafes are joining in the fun. Look for the garlic signs to spot a garlic dish you should try at a local restaurant. Dolci Gelati is even creating a Roasted Garlic Gelato available for the day.
The market is now hosting two pop up vendors each week including distilleries, local breweries and vineyards, honey, spices and more! Additionally, the market is planning 6 events in 2018 including an Herb Festival in May, Bee Festival in June, Garlic Festival in July and everyone’s favorite, the Takoma Park Farmers Market Pie Contest in September.
