Join us every Sunday on Laurel Avenue in the lovely historic business district of Takoma Park. You’ll find the freshest local, seasonal produce, breads, pasture raised meats, artisan cheese, eggs, baked goods and more from farms located within 125 miles of Takoma Park, MD. Each week, the market is a lively meeting place for residents and visitors. Street performers often set up along the sidewalks and non-profits share info at the Community Corner creating an enjoyable backdrop to market activities.


Spring Plant and Herb Fest, Sunday, May 20th from 10:00am to 12:00 noon

SPRING is HERE! Join the Takoma Park Farmers Market for a Spring Plant and Herb Fest. Vegetable starter plants, decorative plants and herbs available for planting available throughout the market. Kathy Jentz, editor of Washington Gardener Magazine and Mary-Denise Smith, blogger and a recipe tester for the Washington Post, will be hosting a host an Herb Talk and Tasting. Learn about all of the flavorful herbs available at the market. Taste herbs, learn about what to plant, find recipes and bring the kids to plant basil seeds to take home. Enter drawing to win an herb pot!


New this Season
The market is now hosting two pop up vendors each week including distilleries, local breweries and vineyards, honey, spices and more! Additionally, the market is planning 6 events in 2018 including an Herb Festival in May, Bee Festival in June, Garlic Festival in July and everyone’s favorite, the Takoma Park Farmers Market Pie Contest in September. Bring Your Bags to the Market

Be sure to bring your reuseable shopping bags to the market or you can purchase one at the market’s ATM booth.  As of December 1, 2016, the City of Takoma Park has banned plastic shopping bags at the point of sale.
